By-elections for 21 seats of National and Provincial Assembly will be held on April 21

Islamabad: The by-elections on 5 vacant seats of the National Assembly and 16 vacant seats of the Provincial Assembly will be held on April 21.

According to the Election Commission, the polling will start at 8 am and continue till 5 pm. All the arrangements for the by-elections have been completed. More than 6230 thousand ballot papers have been printed for the by-elections. Green ballot papers for National Assembly and white ballot papers for Provincial Assembly have been printed.

The Election Commission says that 174 candidates from Punjab, while a total of 49 candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are participating in the election.

In Punjab, 21 lakh 77 thousand 187 male and 18 lakh 67 thousand 365 female registered voters will exercise their right to vote. In the by-elections from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14 lakh 71 thousand voters will exercise their right to vote.

According to the Election Commission, 663 male, 649 female and 1289 joint polling stations were established in Punjab for by-elections. A total of 892 polling stations have been established from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

4 lakh 23 thousand 981 voters will exercise their right to vote for the by-election of National Assembly Constituency NA 196 of Sindh. 5 candidates are contesting in NA 196. 933 polling stations have been established for Sindh National Assembly Constituency. 125 polling stations have been set up in the constituencies of Balochistan, while 163,000 voters will exercise their right to vote.

Control rooms have been set up in Provincial Election Commissioners offices for redressal of complaints. The installation of CCT cameras at the highly sensitive polling station will be completed today.
