Former women’s team captain Bisma Maruf has announced her retirement

Former national women’s team captain Bisma Maruf has announced her retirement from cricket with immediate effect.

Women cricketer Bisma Maruf says that she has decided to retire from the sport she loves the most. It has been an incredible journey, full of challenges, victories and unforgettable memories.

Bisma Maruf also captained the team in 96 international matches, represented Pakistan in 4 editions of the ICC Women’s 50 Overs World Cup (2009, 2013, 2017 and 2022), in the 2022 World Cup in New Zealand. Also led the team.

In T20 Internationals, Bisma Maruf has represented Pakistan in 8 editions of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2023) and the 2020 and 2023 World Cups in Australia and South Africa. I was the captain of the team.
