KARACHI: The Sindh High Court rejected an elderly father’s plea for protection from his sons.

According to the details, Muhammad Abid Hussain, an elderly citizen of Karachi, approached the court to provide protection to his sons, but the court rejected the application as inadmissible.

The Chief Justice said that the Act referred to in the petition has expired. According to the public advocate, the former President of Pakistan had issued the Parental Protection Act in 2021, however, the Act was not approved due to the lack of interest of the Assembly. And that Act having now expired, no judgment can be passed on the application.

Petitioner Muhammad Abid Hussain had submitted an application to the Additional Deputy Commissioner East regarding protection from violence against parents, he requested the court to give an order to the Additional Deputy Commissioner East on my application according to law.

The petitioner said that I am a resident of Gulshan Iqbal Block 13D, I live on the ground floor with my two children and my wife, on the first floor my 3 sons live, who do their own business. The petitioner said that on September 2023, my sons tortured me and my wife, abused me, the Additional Deputy Commissioner East should be ordered to process my complaint at the earliest, and full record of the process should be sought.

However, the Sindh High Court dismissed the plea of ​​violence against the parents as inadmissible.
