The polling for the by-election in National Assembly Constituency NA-148 from Multan has been completed and the counting of votes has started, along with the inconclusive and unofficial results of various polling stations in the constituency.

The polling process for the by-election started at 8 am which continued till 5 pm without any break. The turnout was very low due to the scorching heat.

The inconclusive and unofficial results of 79 out of 275 polling stations in the NA-148 by-election have come out, according to which Pakistan People’s Party’s Syed Ali Qasim Geelani is leading with 22090 votes while Sunni Ittehad Council’s Taimur Altaf Malik is ahead with 11012 votes. are in second place.

On the other hand, all the roads leading to the office of the Returning Officers were blocked by the police. Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates Taimur Malik and Zain Qureshi were prevented from going to the returning office.

A heavy contingent of police and a prisoner van were brought outside the Returning Office.

CPO Sadiq Ali says that no group will be allowed to take the law into their hands. Gathering of five and more than five people is prohibited.

In NA-148 Multan, PPP candidate Ali Qasim Geelani is also supported by PML-N and is facing PTI-backed candidate Taimur Altaf.

It should be noted that former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani defeated Taimur Altaf Malik in the general elections, later Yusuf Raza Gilani left this seat to become the Chairman of the Senate.
