Agreement on repatriation of 43 Pakistani citizens imprisoned in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan High Commissioner has met Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

In the meeting held in Islamabad, it has been agreed on the return of 43 Pakistani citizens imprisoned in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan High Commissioner has assured all possible cooperation in this regard, for which Mohsin Naqvi thanked the Sri Lankan High Commissioner.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the arrangements for the return of Pakistani prisoners will be finalized in a few days, the Ministry of Interior was working with the Sri Lankan authorities for the past one month to bring back the prisoners.

He said that the relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan are getting stronger, Pakistan wants to further develop mutual relations in various fields.

Besides, in the meeting, it was agreed to take immediate steps to return the prisoners of both the countries. Matters of mutual interest and development of bilateral relations were also discussed in the meeting.

On this occasion, it was also agreed to increase cooperation in the field of security and counter-narcotics.
