Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online) Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman attended the Best Achievement Awards ceremony organized by the business community as a special guest. The Provincial Minister distributed the awards to the women and men who performed best in 2023-24.
Prominent business personalities of Pakistan participated in the event. The Finance Minister said in his address that the Tehreek-e-Insaf government has faced serious economic problems in the country. In 4 years, so many loans were taken that no government had taken before. Had the opposition parties not intervened, the country would have gone bankrupt. The country’s economic growth rate was 6 percent in 2018, which stands at 2 percent today. CPEC was bringing investment of 50 billion dollars to Pakistan, but the previous government created obstacles in the way of investment and CPEC was blocked. Inflation rate rose to a record high.

The finance minister further said that in the last 3 months, facing difficulties under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the reduction in the inflation rate was ensured, which stood at 20 percent for 2 years. The stock market improved and global investors regained confidence. Under CPEC, the potential for increased investment has been created and further investment has been indicated by China. In a short period of 3 months, sustainable steps have been taken to increase investment. Public-private partnership is at the top of the economic policies of the current government. Government will ensure provision of favorable environment for investment. Entrepreneurs fulfill their responsibilities.
