Massachusetts: A man who has lived in the US for over 60 years got the biggest shock of his life when it was revealed that he is not a US citizen.

According to local media, Jimmy Klaas was preparing to retire from his government job and expected to receive a letter from the Social Security Administration assuring him of retirement benefits, including a pension.

But Jimmy, 66, got a shock when he discovered his account had been frozen because he could not prove he was a legal US citizen.

“I was informed that my account was frozen because I couldn’t prove to them that I was living here legally,” Jimmy told local news. Although my father’s is from Brooklyn, New York. And when I was two, we shifted to Beverly.

However, Jimmy Klaas has been living in the US since the age of two, but he was not born in the US. His mother was Canadian and his grandparents were from Germany. However, Jimmy’s father was an American citizen, so Jimmy had no doubts about his American citizenship.

Jimmy also has a Social Security card and a driver’s license. Besides, they have always voted in elections. During all this time there was never any problem. They even received Medicare (a government health scheme) for 18 months.

Now Jimmy has to spend his retirement savings on litigation to prove his citizenship. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), on the other hand, has refused to comment and said it cannot discuss Jimmy’s case due to privacy concerns.
