DG Meteorological Department Mehr Sahibzad Khan has said that from May 21 to 27, the temperature in Punjab will be 47 to 48 degrees.

While giving a press conference in Islamabad, DG Meteorological Department said that the month of April this year has passed normally, the temperature did not exceed 40 degrees in April this year.

DG Meteorological Department said that severe heat wave has started in May, heat wave occurs when temperature exceeds normal temperature.

He said that if the high temperature remains for 3 days continuously, it can be called a heat wave, due to the heat wave, the temperature of the earth also increases, our green areas are decreasing, the number of buildings has increased.

Meher Sahibzad Khan said that to avoid heat wave, cover the head and use more water, sick people should be more careful in heat wave.

He said that since the climate changes, the night temperature has also increased, the temperature has also increased in the southern regions of Punjab, and the length of the day in summer is also longer.

DG Meteorological Department Mehr Sahibzad Khan said that the temperature will increase between 12 noon and 3 pm, the power sector is more affected in summer.

He said that we are in touch with the power sector regarding the temperature. In the past, the maximum temperature in Islamabad has gone up to 45 degrees, this year too the temperature will go above 40 degrees.

He further said that Tarbela and Mangala dams have benefited from the rains in April, pre-monsoon may start from the second month of June.
