Berlin: German Chancellor Olaf Schulz’s spokesman has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be arrested if he enters Germany after being found guilty of war crimes by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

German Chancellor Olaf Schulz’s spokesman, Stefan Haberstreit, has confirmed that the law will be upheld and that the Israeli prime minister will be arrested if he enters Germany, Mail Online reported.

Germany’s statement came after Israel’s ambassador to Berlin, Ro Prossor, called on Germany to reject the aforementioned decision of the ICC.

Earlier, the British prosecutor Karim Khan announced that he will try to arrest the head of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, along with Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Yuva Gallant.

It should be noted that the ICC issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant for starting Israel’s war on Gaza after the attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and committing heinous crimes during that time. Warrants were also issued for the head of Hamas.

There was a mixed reaction to the ICC’s decision from around the world, with the United Kingdom calling it inappropriate and US President Joe Biden calling it provocative, while the heads of many countries supported the investigation.

It should be noted that more than 35 thousand 800 Palestinians, including children and women, have been martyred in Gaza so far, including 15 thousand children, while 79 thousand 990 Palestinians are injured and 10 thousand are missing.
