Russia has begun practical exercises to develop and use non-strategic nuclear weapons, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, this is the first phase of exercises being conducted in the Southern Military District, and video of the exercises has also been released.

According to the statement issued by the Russian military department, these practical exercises of developing and using non-strategic nuclear weapons are being conducted on the orders of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In this first phase, the practical testing of developing and using non-strategic nuclear weapons is being conducted and these exercises are being led by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

According to Russian media, missile formations personnel from the Southern Military District have been practicing acquiring special weapons for the Iskander tactical missile system in battle, arming launch vehicles with them, and then secretly transporting them to locations where Missiles are to be launched from

Soldiers from the Aerospace Forces Aviation unit practice the deployment of an air-to-air missile.

Among these weapons are Kinzhal aeroballistic hypersonic missiles, MiG-31 fighter jets are participating in these exercises.

According to the Russian authorities, this step is being taken for the sake of its national security and regional stability in the context of provocative statements against Russia by the Western authorities.

Officials have described the exercises as a response to NATO’s efforts to destabilize Russia.
