Peshawar: The court issued a notice to the Advocate General on the petition against the approval of the budget in the Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet.
Budget Approval: A 2-member bench of Peshawar High Court comprising Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Shahid Khan heard the petition filed against the provincial cabinet’s budget approval, in which the court issued a notice to the Advocate General.
Advocate Aminur Rehman Yousafzai told the court that the petitioner is the opposition leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The budget for the month of March was presented and approved in the assembly, however, the process was not followed for the budget for the month of April and approval was taken from the cabinet

It has been argued in the petition that the law resorted to for budget approval is only for caretaker government. Now that the assembly is in place, the budget will be presented to the assembly for approval and approval will be taken. Funds cannot also be used for different projects. It is also illegal to use provincial government funds.
The court issued a notice to the Advocate General and adjourned the hearing till May 2
