Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has said that the defamation law should not have been rushed, but it would have been better if it had been brought in consultation.

Addressing the ceremony of giving appointment letters to blind people in Rawalpindi, Governor Punjab Nape said that defamation law is not the end letter, it should be discussed with journalistic organizations and stakeholders, I have not read this law yet, after studying it. Will give it to my legal team they will also look into it.

He said that there is a possibility that I will ask the Punjab government to review the defamation law and I am hopeful that the defamation law will be reviewed again.

Governor Punjab said that I am very worried because of corruption for 15 days, today the situation has reached the stage that billions of rupees of this poor nation are being eaten with one burp and no one is going to ask, in our laws and system. It is so weak that people don’t care.

He further said that if you look at the history of Pakistan, there has been corruption in every election, all the political parties are responsible for it.

Governor Punjab gave appointment letters to 49 blind persons in various departments of Punjab and reiterated his commitment that all resources will be utilized for the welfare of blind persons. Service to suffering humanity has the status of worship. Sardar Saleem Haider Respectful employment is the basic right of everyone.

He said that blind people did not let disability become a constraint which was commendable.
