Islamabad: The Foreign Office says that the students coming from Bishkek are returning to Pakistan voluntarily.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in a media briefing that Pakistani students in Bishkek suffered insecurity and trauma after the attacks. The sensational manner in which fake news and misinformation was spread increased the fear. Fake news of rapes and even murders were spread which led to the students petitioning the government.

The spokesperson further said that considering the problems of the students, the government had to make arrangements for their evacuation. Students will decide whether to return or not after consulting their universities and parents. Our aim is to repatriate those students who want to return.

If needed and requested by Iran, they can certainly provide assistance. In response to a question regarding the investigation of the Iran helicopter crash, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Iran has expertise in this type of investigation, but if needed and requested by Iran, it will certainly provide assistance.
