The Pakistani High Commissioner was barred from attending the Indian President’s function

New Delhi (Monitoring Desk) Diplomatic etiquette has been flouted in India. Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit was barred from attending the book launch event at Rashtrapati Bhavan (Indian President’s House) in New Delhi. According to private TV, Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit said that the invitation was given ten days ago and a reminder was also given. A book launch was scheduled at Rashtrapati Bhawan but then a call was made to inform that the invitation had been canceled and you could not attend the event. No apology was given in this regard. The organizers have said that the function is to be held at Rashtrapati Bhawan and Pranab Mukherjee is the chief guest, for which permission from the Foreign Office is required, which was not taken. Invitations were also sent to the high commissioners of the US, France and Sri Lanka, which were withdrawn.
