The historic moments of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly will always be remembered when Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi held the Holy Quran and respected its sanctity.

It should be noted that between June and August 2023, incidents of desecration and burning of the Holy Quran took place in Sweden and Denmark.

However, Western countries preferred to remain silent on these incidents saying that it is freedom of expression.

In such a situation, it was Ibrahim Raisi who, along with the heads of other Muslim countries including Turkey, Qatar, strongly protested against these incidents and demanded strict action from the United Nations.

While giving a historic address to the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, he criticized the West for burning copies of the Holy Quran.

While addressing this meeting, he held the Holy Quran and defended its sanctity and demanded to stop the successive incidents of insulting the Quran in the name of freedom of expression.

Ibrahim Raisi said in his speech that all human beings are declared equal in the Quran, and witnessed incidents of Islamophobia and cultural racism in Western countries which are against humanity.

He said that the West wants to divert attention from freedom of expression, from the desecration of the Holy Quran to banning the hijab in schools, cultural racism is evident in Western countries and numerous other reprehensible discriminations not worthy of human dignity. .

During the speech, he pointed to France, which has controversially banned Muslim girls from wearing the hijab in schools.

During the same session of the United Nations General Assembly, he kissed the Holy Quran and explained to the world that this Quran is from God and very dear and will remain forever.
