A battery system that generates uninterrupted power in the body

Beijing: A team of scientists has created a battery system that can be implanted in the body to generate electricity without interruption.

A design made by experts from China’s Tianjin University of Technology could revolutionize the health sector.

Over the years, implantable batteries and electrical devices (pacemakers or neurostimulators) have revolutionized the health field. But these batteries often wear out and need to be replaced. The only solution is risky surgery.

However, this latest invention is seen as an evolution of implantable batteries in medical technology that run on the body’s oxygen supply.

According to Shizheng Live, a professor on the team, the use of oxygen was a very obvious means for an infinite battery.

Professor Live said that if there is continuous supply of oxygen in the body, the life of the battery will not be limited.

So, along with a team of researchers, Professor Live set out to create a battery that would react with the body’s oxygen to generate electricity.

Scientists tested this invention in laboratory mice. After two weeks of testing, it was found that during this time the mice did not experience any side effects and it was confirmed that the discharge was stable.
