A new policy has been prepared regarding the purchase of wheat

A new policy related to the purchase of wheat has been prepared under which the role of the food department in the purchase of wheat will end.

Punjab Food Department has suggested not to buy wheat next year.

According to sources in the food department, the new policy proposes that the private sector buy wheat directly from farmers.

After the new policy, the food department will not incur storage costs as the food department is currently bearing a burden of Rs 400 billion annually.

The new policy proposes that the government will fix the price of local wheat according to the international price.

Under the new policy, it is proposed to set uniform rates of wheat in all four provinces.
