Appeal against annulment of NAB amendments, PTI founders can give arguments through video link: Chief Justice

During the hearing on the Federal Government’s appeal against the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to invalidate the NAB amendments, the Chief Justice of Pakistan has said in his remarks that The founders of PTI can, if they wish, give their arguments at the next hearing through video link.

A 5-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa is conducting the hearing.

The larger bench also includes Justice Aminuddin, Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel, Justice Athar Minullah and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi.

Arguments of Government Counsel

Government counsel Makhdoom Ali Khan came to the rostrum and argued.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa said that the court proceedings will be limited to legal points only.

Justice Athar Minullah said that if Imran Khan wants to appear in a personal capacity, steps should be taken for him.

It should be noted that the Supreme Court had given a decision on the petition of the PTI founder against the NAB amendments.

The bench headed by the then Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial had declared the NAB amendments invalid.

The federal government has filed an appeal against the decision of the Supreme Court.
