Apple Vision Pro buyers who forget the device’s passcode may need to take it back to the store.

New Apple buyers Vision Pro Looking for a headset can be a big problem if they lose their passcode.

The company is telling customers who forget their code — usually a series of digits — that if they want it to work again, they’ll need to bring the device into a store or mail it to AppleCare customer support. apple Then it will erase and reset.

The issue is one of the few initial customer service snags surrounding the $3,499 (roughly Rs. 2,90,000) device, which went on sale on Friday. The company’s support staff is also fielding questions from users struggling to set up Optic ID — the eye-scanning tool to log into the device — and the built-in Apple Music App

The passcode issue can be particularly frustrating. When customers enter their passcode incorrectly too many times, the headset will be disabled. If users can’t remember their passcode after the waiting period, they must send it back to Apple to be reset, according to guidance provided to the company’s support staff. At this point, all content on the device will be erased.

It’s a quirk that doesn’t exist with other Apple products. of the company Smart watchFor example, there is a mechanism that allows users to reset their passcode if they forget it.

It is possible that Apple will make software changes in the near future that will allow the passcode to be reset without the need to send the product back. An Apple spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.

On Apple’s community forum, a customer said he spoke to an agent who had been inundated with calls about the issue. “He had to deal with so many angry customers after being told their only recourse was to return to the store,” the user wrote. “He said Apple Support was really surprised by this and apologized for not being better prepared.”

One complication with the Vision Pro is that it doesn’t have a USB-C port that allows users to connect it to one Mac Troubleshooting. The company last week released a special strap for developers to attach the headset to Macs, but the accessory costs around $300 (roughly Rs. 24,900) and is not intended for consumers.

The Vision Pro is Apple’s first major new hardware category since it started selling smartwatches nearly a decade ago. The device isn’t expected to be a blockbuster product — in part because of its hefty price tag — but curious consumers flocked to Apple Stores over the weekend to try it out. Reception of the product has been generally positive, with reviewers praising its immersive video playback and productivity features.
