Attending ICC event, Vanuatu team forced to collect donations

The Oceania country Vanuatu’s team was forced to collect donations to participate in the ICC event.

Vanuatu’s women’s team is scheduled to participate in the ICC Women’s World Cup Global Qualifiers in Abu Dhabi.

Vanuatu defeated Japan in the East Asia Pacific Qualifier to advance to the Global Qualifier.

In addition to Vanuatu, the global qualifiers include the Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Ireland and the UAE.

Women’s teams from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Scotland, USA and Uganda are also participating in the event.

The Vanuatu team needs six and a half to seven thousand dollars for better equipment, the cricket association requested funds from the public to collect the money.

The Vanuatu Cricket Association has created a link to collect funds on the GoFundMe portal.

The Vanuatu National Women’s Team has raised over three thousand dollars so far, the amount required by the Vanuatu Women’s Team is equivalent to one match fee for a full member team player.
