The widget can be used to send a text/image/voice query or start a conversation mode. Note that this feature is currently in beta and not yet available to the public.

Rahman also shared a screenshot of the widget that sheds more light on the details. The home screen widget appears to come in a 4×2 grid style. For reference, it’s as wide as the Google Search widget but twice as tall. There is a text field for writing questions and hints and four icons below it. These icons give users the option to upload an image, click on the image, turn on speech input mode, and receive verbal responses.

These are frequently used features on the app and unless the user wants to search for GPTs or use premium features, the widget should be sufficient. The main advantage of the widget is that users can boot up the app for a quick query without taking over the entire screen. This means the user is free to multitask while the response is generated.
