Federal Government’s big decision regarding ECL Committee

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reconstituted the Exit Control List (ECL) Committee of the Cabinet.

According to the details, the cabinet division has issued a notification for the reorganization of the 4-member ECL committee, according to which it has been decided not to give the headship of the ECL committee to any federal minister.

According to the notification, the prime minister will chair the ECL committee of the cabinet himself, excluding the home minister and the information minister in the ECL sub-committee.

According to the notification, the Ministry of Interior will provide secretarial support for the committee, but the Interior Minister will not be a member of the committee.

According to the notification, the ECL committee consists of Law Minister, Industry and Production Minister and Human Resource Minister. In the absence of the Prime Minister, the Law Minister will chair the committee.

The ECL sub-committee will scrutinize the ECL cases, while the committee’s recommendations will be submitted to the federal cabinet for approval.
