Federal Minister of Law calls Punjab Chief Minister for the release of arrested lawyers

For the release of the arrested lawyers, Prime Minister Nazir Tarar called Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and said that the lawyers are not terrorists, the lawyers in police custody should be released.

The Law Minister and the Chief Minister discussed the situation arising out of the lawyers’ protest in Lahore.

Both agreed that the legitimate demands of the lawyers should be respected, the matter should be resolved amicably.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that she has instructed the Chief Secretary and IG Punjab to refrain from using force against lawyers.

Azam Nazir Tarar and Maryam Nawaz said that the conflict is not in favor of any party including the people, it is wise to solve the problems through dialogue.
