Islamabad: Good news for Pakistani doctors working in Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries recognize Pakistan’s old postgraduate degree programs MS (Master of Surgery) and MD (Doctor of Medicine).

This initiative was made possible by the efforts of the Association of University Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (AUPSP) which worked towards the recognition of Pakistani medical degrees in the Gulf region.

The decision was taken on the visit of a high-level delegation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to Riyadh, which led to the revival of the MD and MS program under the senior registrar.

Now MD and MS degree will come under the category of Senior Registrar and this will increase the rank, salary and benefits of Pakistani doctors working in these countries.

After efforts since 2016, these degrees have finally been recognized. MDS (Dentistry) has already been recognized and now three thousand doctors working in Saudi Arabia will benefit from this initiative.

The general secretary of the association says that this is a victory and a matter of pride for Pakistan and it will increase the honor and dignity of doctors of all fields working in foreign countries because the competence and training of the medical sector of Pakistan will be enhanced. The medical experts of the countries themselves appreciate and acknowledge.

Representative AUPSP Dr. Asad Noor Mirza says that with the decision, Pakistani experts and consultant doctors will be able to provide services at the best level of doctors in Saudi Arabia, three thousand Pakistani doctors in Saudi Arabia can benefit from this. will Earlier this number was four thousand, but now one thousand doctors had returned disappointed.
