According to Express News, a hearing was held in the High Court on the petition against the closure of scrap and junk shops by the police.

The petitioner’s lawyer stated that the Karachi Police had closed down thousands of scrap shops in the city, including the Sher Shah Kabadi Market. The people were following all the instructions of the police and still closed the business.

The petitioner said that scrap dealers import and export goods, people involved in scrap pay taxes, operate legally, stopping the business is a violation of Article 4, 9 and 25 of the Constitution, the police said.
