In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, announcement of protest against local government representatives not getting powers

Peshawar: Local body representatives announced a protest for not getting powers.

A meeting of the Provincial Action Council Local Councils Association was held to deliberate on the non-transfer of local government powers, in which village and neighborhood council members of Tehreek-e-Insaaf along with the Mayor of Mardan participated.

Addressing the meeting, Mayor Mardan Bakhtullah Mayar said that we have been asking for powers for two years, but we are not being given powers.

He said that if the powers are not given by April 30, then they will stage a dharna on May 7.
