India’s fourth phase of elections begins; Voting in 10 states

New Delhi: Voting has started for 96 seats in 10 states of India in which 11.7 million citizens will exercise their right to vote.

According to Indian media, the fourth phase of elections began today in the scorching heat in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and one union territory.

The fate of Asaduddin Owaisi, Shatrughan Sinha, former cricketer Yusuf Pathan and Akhilesh Yadav will be decided in the voting for 96 seats today. BJP and Congress leaders are hopeful of their own success.

Earlier, 3 phases of elections have been completed on April 19, April 26 and May 7, while today is the fourth phase.

The next phase of voting took place on May 20 in the rest of the states. The results will be declared on June 4 after completion of seven stages.

It should be remembered that for the biggest elections in the world, elections are being held on 543 seats of the lower house of the Indian Parliament, Lok Sabha, in which a total of 96 crore and 9 million voters are registered.
