Indonesia, tsunami alert issued after volcano eruption
Authorities issued a tsunami alert after a volcano erupted on the Indonesian island of Sula Wesi.
The authorities have directed more than 11 thousand people to move to a safe place.
According to news agencies, there were at least 5 explosions in Rong volcano during 24 hours.
According to Indonesia’s Volcanology Agency, Mount Ruang erupted on Tuesday, followed by four more explosions a day later.
Officials fear that part of the volcano may fall into the sea and cause a tsunami.
The eruption has sent ash thousands of feet into the air, and tourists and others have been advised to stay at least 6 kilometers away from the volcano.
