LAHORE (From Aamirbit) Corruption, abuse of power, forgery and massive bribery revealed, officers and employees associated with Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) also came under the radar of FIA, Additional D. G-Excise has written a letter to take action under the Cybercrime Act for fraudulently changing the ownership, registration and edition of more than 1100 vehicles. DG Excise has formed a 4-member committee under the chairmanship of the Additional DG to identify the employees and officials involved in this forgery on an emergency basis, which will submit its full report in the next 3 days. As a result, an FIR will be registered against the employees of the Punjab Information Technology Board in the FIA. It is further learned that DG Excise has sent a letter to take important steps on changing the most important data of the vehicles without the will of the owners, the employees of the Punjab Information Technology Board changed the ownership of 1100 vehicles by taking alleged bribes in the secure system. They transferred, registered and updated vehicles by misusing the system. A 4-member JI headed by Additional DG Excise has been constituted, as per JIT’s TORs, the audit report will be analyzed and the culprits and beneficiaries behind the illegal activity will be traced. The committee will also identify loopholes in the existing system and make recommendations against criminal actions by investigating allegations of fraud.

Meanwhile, third-party audit and forensics of vehicle data will also be conducted. On the other hand, a letter has also been written for action under Cyber ​​Act against the employees of Punjab Information Technology Board and Excise for altering vehicle records.
