Order to take action according to the law against the bridegroom for arranging the marriage of an underage girl

The Lahore High Court has ordered legal action against Nikah Khawan in the case related to the marriage of a minor girl.

Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu heard the case related to the marriage of a minor girl in the Lahore High Court, the minor girl brought from Darla Aman was presented in the court.

The petitioner told the court that the girl is 15 years old who was forcibly married, the case of abduction of the girl is registered in Shahdara.

During the hearing, Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu asked the girl, “Son, did you get married of your own free will?”

The girl gave a statement in the court and said that yes, I got married of my own free will.

The court asked the girl again, how old are you?

On this, the girl told the court that her age was between 15 and 16 years.

Later, the court ordered a judicial magistrate to decide the case.

Justice Anwar-ul-Haq gave the order and further said to file a prosecution against Nikah Khawan, how to marry a young girl.
