Peshawar; Seeking response from the government to remove the names of provincial ministers and others from ECL

Peshawar: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a response was sought from the government on the requests to remove the names of provincial ministers and assembly members from the ECL.

A hearing was held on the petitions filed against adding the names of provincial minister Fazal Shakoor Khan and other members of the assembly to the ECL and stop list. Justice SM Atiq Shah and Justice Shakeel Ahmed of Peshawar High Court conducted the hearing.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer Arshad Ahmed said that the petitioner wants to go out for Umrah.

Justice SM Atiq Shah remarked that all of them are going for Umrah, it seems that these Umrahs are being done for a particular person, there they will also make videos and say that we also performed Umrah for you and They are also praying.

Director Legal FIA Abdul Rehman Afridi said that the names of the petitioners have been included in the ECL on the recommendations of the concerned DPOs.

The court has sought response from the federal government, FIA and the concerned parties within seven days.

The petitioners include Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan, Arif Ahmad Zai Khalid Khan, Fasal Muhammad Khan, Atif Khan, Shahram Khan Turkai, former Arbab Jehandad, Idris Khattak, Anwar Taj and former MP Muhammad Ali Turkai.
