Progress in Ahsan Iqbal’s defamation case against Murad Saeed

Progress has been made in the defamation case of Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal against former Federal Minister Murad Saeed.

In the District and Sessions Court Islamabad, the court has decided to unilaterally conduct the proceedings on Murad Saeed’s continuous absence and non-appearance of the lawyer.

Additional Judge Hasina Saqlain heard the defamation case against Murad Saeed, Ahsan Qabal appeared in the court along with his lawyer Qaiser Imam.

In the defamation case, Ahsan Iqbal recorded his statement in the court and said that Murad Saeed’s false campaign damaged my reputation.

He further said that in 2019, Murad Saeed accused me of corruption in Multan Sukkur Motorway and said that Ahsan Iqbal had taken a bribe of Rs 70 billion.

Ahsan Iqbal also said that Murad Saeed should pay 10 billion rupees as compensation along with unconditional apology.

The court summoned 3 witnesses to record their statement on the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till May 23.
