The Battle of Uhud is a great battle

This battle took place in Shawwal-ul-Mukarram 3 Hijri, the year after the Battle of Badr, and it was called the Battle of Uhud.

Ghazwa means the battle in which the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) personally participated and “Ahad” is the name of a mountain which is two miles away from Madinah.

This holy mountain is mentioned in Quran and Hadith. However, in the Qur’an, in Surah Al-Imran, where the Battle of Uhud is mentioned, its description can be seen, and the meaning of the hadith is: “Uhud loves us and we Uhud.”

The meaning of another hadith is: “When you come to Mount Uhud, eat the fruits of its tree, even if the tree is thorny.” This mountain still exists in its original state, when the sun’s rays fall on its stones and particles, they appear reddish.

In the Battle of Badr, the infidels of Makkah had to bear the burden of defeat, in which they suffered huge financial and human losses. The fire of revenge burning in their breasts, they wanted revenge on the Muslims at any cost. It was necessary to purchase the equipment in any way.

However, in the month of 3 Hijri Shawwal, this battle between the Muslims of Madinah and the infidels of Makkah took place. This battle is of great importance in its details. The complete details of this campaign are fully mentioned in the books of Hadith, Seerat and Tafseer Quran, however, their summary is being presented in this article. Due to which this great battle took place.

Reasons: In the Battle of Badr, seventy people of the disbelievers of Makkah went to hell, among them was their leader and the biggest enemy of Islam, Abu Jahl, so revenge was a natural act, and anyway, the Arabs took revenge for the victims at that time. Therefore, he took this arrangement upon himself. Abu Sufyan had vowed for the seventy victims of Badr that he would not bathe until he avenged those victims.

I will not oil my hair or change my clothes. The main reason for this war was the mutual grudge between disbelief and Islam. Due to the slaying of seventy people, there was mourning in every house and every family in Makkah, and the fire of revenge was burning in every heart, even though this spark of revenge was also the reason for the attack of Uhud.

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Ishaq: “Allah Almighty has revealed sixty verses in Surah Al-Imran of the Holy Qur’an in honor of the Battle of Uhud.” And Ibn Abi Hatim narrated on the authority of Masoor bin Mukharama. He says that I asked Hazrat Abd al-Rahman bin Awf, may Allah be pleased with him: “Tell me your story of the Battle of Uhud.” Read the verses 121 to 153 and you will know the whole story. “

The meaning of the opening verses: “And when you came out of your houses early in the morning (to the field of Ehud) you were placing the Muslims on the front lines for battle, and Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing.” Then when it happened that two parties among you intended to give up, although Allah was the Helper, and those who believe should put their trust in Allah in all circumstances. And look! Don’t lose heart and don’t be sad, you are the most superior and the highest provided that you are true believers, if you have suffered a wound (in Uhud), then others have also suffered the same wound (in Badr). These are the times (of defeat) which we among mankind keep moving about, except that it was to test who is a true believer and who is not, and so that a group of you Let the witness make the situation, and it is clear that Allah does not befriend the wrongdoers.” (Surah Al-Imran)

When the Holy Prophet came to know about Abu Sufyan’s preparations, he consulted the Companions. The aged and experienced Companions advised that we will fight the enemy while staying inside Madinah. He will eat and escape. This was the opinion of Abdullah bin Abi, who had converted to Islam after the Battle of Badr and was now the leader of the hypocrites.

Among those who gave second opinion were those Companions who could not participate in the Battle of Badr for some reason and some youths who were devoted to war ambitions were also included. The enemies of Islam should be fought. When the Holy Prophet found this tendency of the majority, he said Sad and went to the holy room.

The experienced and senior Companions reprimanded Asghar for his opinion that he had disturbed the Prophet (PBUH) with his independent opinion against the direction of the Prophet (PBUH). However, when he came out of the room, those young men expressed their regret to him and asked him to stay in Medina and fight the enemy. Hearing this, the Holy Prophet said that it is against the honor of the Prophet that when the weapons are prepared in the way of God, then he takes them down in the battle without right or wrong. “The Holy Prophet left Madinah with an army of 1000. Abdullah bin Abi, who had not converted to Islam from his heart, left with his three hundred men. The Holy Prophet gave precedence to the opinion of the youth over my opinion. So why should we risk our lives?

This action of the hypocrites definitely gave a temporary blow to the Muslims, but their steadfastness did not slip and they sabotaged the aims of the hypocrites by rekindling their passion for Jihad. On the other hand, an army of 3,000 under the leadership of Abu Sufyan came out against the less strong and weak Muslims with weapons. Along with this army, 20 dirge women also played tambourines and sang poems about the death of their Badr victims to encourage the army. were raising The spirit of the Muslim youth and children was visible and admirable. When the Holy Prophet once again reviewed the army after coming out of Madinah, Sagheer Ulsan was among the 700 people in Lashkar-e-Islam.

When the Holy Prophet ordered these boys to return, Rafi, who was the son of Khadij, stood on his tiptoes and presented a record of his height to justify his participation in the war. They started crying and said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! If Rafi is participating in the battle, why am I excluded from the battle when I can defeat Rafi in the boat? In this way, they were both wrestled and Samra won the honor of participating in the war by defeating Rafi. In the same war, some mischief had arisen in the two tribes of Muslims, Banu Salama and Banu Harith, but seeing the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the Muslims, their courage and ambitions rose.

On the 7th of Shawwal, the army of Muslims reached Uhud with zeal for Jihad and passionate leadership, and both ranks faced each other. He appointed a group of fifty archers under the leadership of Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Jubeer on the mountain pass and ordered them not to leave their place in any situation of victory or defeat. So that no one can attack from behind. And gave his sword to Hazrat Abudjana.

There were 200 horsemen out of the 3,000 Quraish. Khalid bin Waleed was on his lamb and Ikramah bin Abu Jahl was on Maysara. Abdullah bin Rabi’ah was assigned to the cavalry division. The attack started from the sides. The Muslims attacked the enemies with great courage. Hazrat Hamza was the uncle and brother of the Holy Prophet. He showed bravery along with Abu Dujana and Shaiba and forced them to retreat by entering the ranks of the enemies. During this time these three people were martyred. The Ansar also fought hard and a few youths were martyred.

When the infidels started running away, the archers of the Muslims ran to collect the booty, then Hazrat Abdullah bin Jubeer (RA) forbade them that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had said not to move from their place, but they continued to go ahead and collect the booty full of the spirit of victory. When Khalid bin Waleed saw this condition of the Muslims, he brought his troops from the back side of two and a half miles and attacked the Muslims with full force, due to which dismay spread among the Muslims and the victory of the Muslims began to turn into defeat. But the Muslims were shot at with such intensity that the dissension spread among the Muslims.

According to the tradition, a stone thrown by Amr bin Qumiya hit the Prophet’s face on Anwar, which killed a lower tooth on the right side of the Prophet. He was martyred on the spot. At the time of this attack by the enemy, the martyrs like Abu Bakr, Umar, Ali, Talha, Zubair were protecting the Holy Prophet in the form of a shield, but the stone pelting was so intense that the fence broke and the Holy Prophet fell into a pit. Ali and Hazrat Talha took over in time. Due to the fall, Khud got hit in the head and got a slight injury on his face and arm from the links of the armor.

Malik bin Sinan and Abu Ubaidah cleaned the wounds. The enemies were constantly shooting at the Muslims, Hazrat Talha kept stopping the arrow coming towards the Prophet ﷺ on his shield that suddenly the shield fell from his hand and he did not even get a chance to pick it up. Because of which this hand of yours became paralyzed, then this hand dried up and became useless forever.

Another incident is that Hazrat Abu Talha (RA) Ansari, who was also a great archer, stood in front of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and did not allow a single arrow to come towards the Prophet (PBUH). When the Holy Prophet wanted to raise his neck to see the gathering of the infidels, Abu Talha ra Ansari stopped him with these words: “My parents sacrifice to you, do not raise your neck and look lest an arrow hits you.” My flock is before yours. “

In the field of Uhud, 70 great companions were martyred, including Hazrat Hamzah, who was the beloved uncle of the Holy Prophet, and great people like Abdullah bin Jahsh Yasir and Abu Dujana. Therefore, every house in Madinah had a row of mourners. On this occasion, Abdullah Ibn Abi Sardar, the hypocrites, went from house to house and poisoned the Holy Prophet and this battle. If they had returned, it would not have been a loss of money and lives.

Shidayian Rasool (PBUH) and the progenitors of the Prophet (PBUH) with the spirit of martyrdom gave such a face-to-face answer to the hypocrites that in such a defeated state they went out in pursuit of the polytheists of Makkah. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad writes in Rasool Rahmat صلى الله عليه وسلم: The Holy Prophet while addressing his wounded Companions said: “Muslims, our enemy has fled from the field, we will go in pursuit of them and look! Only the person who was with us in the field of Uhud will have the right to participate in this campaign. All the wounded said with one voice: O Messenger of Allah! We are here.”

People tied bandages on their wounds, mended their weapons, kept the stone of grief of their martyrs on their hearts and followed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for eight miles from Madinah. It was becoming difficult so that the world could see that the Muslims under the leadership of their Prophet (peace be upon him) suffered losses but were not defeated. This battle was not the second and last battle against the pagans of Makkah, rather it proved to be a precursor to another major war in which other tribes also took part.
