Sindh High Court order to remove illegal thrift bazaar and rickshaw stands from roads

Karachi: The Sindh High Court has ordered the removal of illegal thrift bazaar and Ching Chi rickshaw stands established on various highways and rafi plots.

A hearing was held in front of a 2-member bench headed by Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi on the petition against setting up illegal bachat bazaar and chung chi rickshaw stands on various highways and rifa’i plots in Korangi.

During the hearing, the lawyer took the position that illegal thrift markets and rickshaw stands have been established in different areas, an order should be given to stop the illegal activities.

The court expressed its anger on the police and the deputy commissioner for not eliminating the illegal bachat bazaar and rickshaw stands despite the orders.

Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi remarked that illegal thrift markets and rickshaw stands are established on the roads. They should be removed. Due to them, roads are blocked, people are in trouble.

The public prosecutor took the position that the written reply of the SSP has come, the reply of the Deputy Commissioner is yet to come. Time should be given to submit the reply on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner.

Later, the court ordered the abolition of bachat bazaar and rickshaw stands established on highways, service roads and rafai plots. After completing the operation, the court ordered the police and the deputy commissioner to submit a report by May 28.
