The actress of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Alta Chashma’ won the sexual harassment case against the producer

Mumbai: Renowned actress of popular Indian drama serial ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Alta Chashma’ Jennifer Bansival has won the sexual harassment case against producer Asit Kumar Modi.

Jennifer Bansival, who played the role of ‘Mrs Roshan Singh Sodhi’ in the drama serial, filed a sexual harassment case against the producer, executive producer and operations head in June last year.

Today, Jennifer Bansival won the case where the court ordered Asit Kumar Modi to pay the outstanding dues of the actress and Rs 5 lakh as damages.

However, Jennifer Bansival expressed a mixed reaction to the court decision. He said that the verdict was in my favor and the allegations were proved to be true, I was ordered to pay Rs 20 to 25 lakh to Asit Kumar Modi and Rs 5 lakh as damages.

He said that the said court order was issued on February 15, 2024 and I was forbidden to tell the media, today 40 days have passed since the decision but I have not received even 1 rupee till now.

‘Despite being found guilty, no punishment has been given to the three accused, which is disappointing. The court awarded the producer a very small amount of damages which would not deter others from committing such a crime.’

Jennifer Bansival had told in an interview that on 7 March 2023, I recorded the last episode of the show, it was my wedding anniversary and Holi for which I asked for leave but I was mistreated by the producers, when I was forced to leave. My car was stopped and threats were given.

He had said that everyone except me got leave on the set but I was not heard. I left there forcefully and never went back. On March 24, he sent me a notice alleging that my leaving the show caused a huge loss.’

‘Mrs Roshan Singh Sodhi’ said that on April 8, I sent a legal notice to Asit Mott, Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj while informing the government authorities about it through email but there was no response from the front, I hope. That the matter will be investigated.
