The American Academy of Neurology honored the Pakistani professor with the Advocate of the Year Award

Karachi: Professor of Neurology at the Aga Khan University’s Department of Medicine, Mohammad Wasay, was awarded the Colorado Advocate of the Year Award by the American Academy of Neurology for Global Patient and Neurology Advocacy.

According to the ongoing press release of the Aga Khan University, Professor Muhammad Wasay is a consultant neurologist specializing in general neurology and stroke. He has also served as President of the Pakistan Society of Neurology and was recently elected as a Trustee of the World Federation of Neurology and a Fellow of the World Academy of Science.

Prof. Muhammad Wasee has chaired several task forces and advisory committees in the public and private sectors in neural sciences and neural imaging.

Commenting on this achievement, Professor Wasey said that his latest honor is to follow the late Dr. Kenneth M. Westey Jr., who is named after the late Dr. .

Prior to this award, Professor Wasay has been honored with the American Academy of Neurology’s Teacher’s Recognition Award and Advocacy Leader of the Year Award, the Pakistan Society of Neurology’s Distinguished Teacher Award, and the Pakistan Academy of Medical Sciences’ Junior Award and Gold Medal.
