WhatsApp is reportedly testing international payments through UPI for Indian users.

In the screenshot, a new option can be seen. Payments menu under the Forgot UPI PIN. The option is labeled on the tipped feature. According to the screenshot, users will need to enter the UPI PIN to turn on the feature.
International payments allow customers with Indian bank accounts to select international merchants and send money to complete transactions. This feature will work only in countries where banks have enabled international UPI services. In India, by international payment UPI automatically expires, after which it needs to be manually activated again. According to the tipster, this period can be three months in WhatsApp. In contrast, Google Pay offers a seven-day transaction period. Especially, Google PayPhonePe, and some other major players in the UPI space are already offering the service.
