According to the details, five children drowned while bathing in the Indus River at Hala Parana Picnic Point in Matiari, out of which 3 children were immediately rescued with the help of local people.

The children of the visiting picnicking family, while bathing at the picnic point, were swept into deep water due to a sudden strong current.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, the bodies of two drowned children were recovered late at night, identified as 12-year-old Faizan Qureshi and 10-year-old Abdul Razzaq. The bodies have been handed over to the heirs.
