Who took over the vacant post of Scottish First Minister Hamza Yusuf?

John Sweeney, the leader of the Scottish National Party, has been elected as the new First Minister of Scotland after the resignation of Pakistan-born Hamza Yusuf.

According to the BBC report, Jon Sweeney won the Holyrood parliamentary election over his three rival candidates Alex Cole-Hamilton of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, Douglas Ross of the Scottish Conservatives and Scottish Labor’s Ins Sarwar.

Jon Sweeney says he will lead fairly and work with all parties to make new laws.

The report states that Jon Sweeney was helped to power by the Scottish Greens boycotting the election.

According to the report, the Scottish National Party has 63 members of the Scottish Parliament while the opposition parties have a total of 65 members.

Lorna Slater, co-leader of the Scottish Greens, said the Scottish National Party had the right to form a government but not the right to use our vote.

It should be noted that the political crisis sparked by Hamza Yusuf’s decision to end the power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens ended last week with his decision to resign.
