Will continue to consult with Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam

On becoming the captain of the national team again, Babar Azam has said that he will continue to consult with Shaheen Afridi in the future.

After showing consent of Babar Azam, Pakistan Cricket Board has announced today through its official account on social media site X to appoint him as the captain of T20 and ODI team.

The press release said that after consultation, the selection committee has unanimously appointed Babar Azam as the captain of T20 and ODI formats.

Babar Azam has said that it is a pleasure to play under the leadership of Shaheen Afridi in the recent T20 series and I will continue to consult Shaheen Afridi in the future.

PCB explained the reason for making Babar the captain instead of Shaheen

Shaheen Afridi said in the statement that it was an honor to captain the Pakistan national cricket team, as a player it is my duty to support my captain, I will always remember these memories and opportunities.

The former captain said that I will try to help Babar Azam on and off the field. Our aim is to make the Pakistan cricket team the best team in the world.
