Arab countries showed interest in purchasing PIA

Karachi: UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have shown interest in buying PIA.

According to ARY News, the authorities of the Gulf countries have speeded up the communication at the government level for PIA, the investors of the companies of the three countries have discussed with the authorities.

Sources say that UAE, Qatar and Saudi authorities have been briefed about PIA.

Sources say that the highest bidder will be handed over to PIA.

It should be noted that the board was announced after the completion of the second phase of the PIA Holding Company regarding the privatization of the national airline.

7 people including Secretary Privatization and CEOPIA are included in the board while Secretary Finance, Secretary Aviation Division are also part of the board.

The federal cabinet nominated Aslam R Khan as the chairman of the board.

The federal cabinet approved the new board of directors of PIA a few days ago. Board’s approval is mandatory in decisions of PIA under SECP rules.
