French Ambassador meeting with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, discussing bilateral issues

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb was met by the Ambassador of France in which they discussed matters of mutual interest and also discussed strengthening bilateral relations.

According to a statement from Islamabad, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb welcomed the French ambassador.

According to the statement, on this occasion, the Finance Minister thanked France for its support on GSP Plus status.

The finance minister apprised the ambassador about the government’s efforts to stabilize the economy of the country and said that the country’s currency has stabilized due to the significant increase in agricultural production.

He said that foreign exchange reserves have reached 9 billion dollars and inflation has reduced. The Finance Minister also informed the Ambassador of France about the end of the IMF program.

He also informed the ambassador about the reforms being carried out in the country and said that the reforms include privatization and SOA reforms, while FBR digitization and export led growth are also included in the reforms.

The Finance Minister highlighted the role of SIFC in investment, the French Ambassador expressed confidence in the possibility of further cooperation.
