Gaza destroyed by explosives equivalent to two atomic bombs, UN

Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territories, has issued a report saying there are “reasonable grounds” to believe Israel is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Presenting the findings in Geneva, Albany said 25,000 tons of explosives, the equivalent of two nuclear bombs, had been used to wipe out entire areas of Gaza, destroying almost all urban infrastructure and agricultural land, mostly Homes, health facilities have been destroyed or severely damaged.

He said that in less than 6 months, Israel has destroyed Gaza, destroying telecommunication infrastructure, every university, most educational facilities and numerous cultural heritage sites.

Albany said his report found “reasonable grounds” to believe that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza, saying Israel had committed three acts of genocide that inflicted serious physical or bodily harm on members of the group. Mental harm has been caused by the deliberate imposition of measures aimed at preventing the birth of children.
