I take full responsibility of wheat import during caretaker period, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar

Quetta: Former Caretaker Prime Minister Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has said that I take full responsibility for the decision to purchase wheat during my time.

While holding a press conference in Quetta along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Anwarul Haq Kakar said that I have never put the issue of wheat on the provinces or anyone.

He said that during my time I take full responsibility for the decision to purchase wheat. After the 18th amendment, the data of wheat purchase is collected by the provinces.

Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that there are two ways to purchase wheat, the first is that the government buys it from the world market and gives it to the people at a subsidized rate so that the market remains stable, the second way is to allow the private sector to import wheat.

He said that unfortunately no one is talking about the third and important point despite this crisis and that is that if RND (Research and Development) does a little research and invests capital, more than four million tons can be produced. can go

He said that when wheat was imported during the caretaker government, he was the Minister of Food and Security at that time and the other gentleman joined the cabinet later. Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that the provinces sent a summary to the PDM government regarding the import of wheat, after which this data came to our caretaker government and on that basis, wheat was imported as per the law.

The Caretaker Prime Minister said that our government imported wheat under the SRO issued during the Tehreek-e-Insaf era and the same law still exists, apart from this, no additional law was made for the private sector and no permission was taken.

Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that it is being claimed that a profit of 85 billion was made on the import of wheat, did we order any cocaine that got so much profit in six months? On one hand we are being tarnished and on the other hand an attempt is being made to make a purely legal object (SRO) illegal.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that some people want that an inquiry be made with Kakar Sahib and me on the issue of wheat import.
