Gaza: In Rafah, the Israeli army targeted a car with a UN flag on its way to a European hospital to deliver medical aid.

According to the World News Agency, a spokesperson of the United Nations said that the Israeli army was informed about their movements by the staff members so that no untoward incident would happen.

On the other hand, a spokesperson of Israel Defense Forces said that we were not informed about the route of the vehicle. The incident is being investigated.

According to the spokeswoman of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Olga Chiriono, 191 UN workers have been killed in Gaza since October 7, almost all of them Palestinians, during the Israel-Hamas war.

Today, however, marks the first international UN killing in which a foreign official has been killed.

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman of the United Nations Secretary General, further said that one of the dead in the latest incident was identified as 46-year-old Indian man Vibhav Anil, who worked in the Department of Safety and Security.

However, the identity of the other officer, who was initially said to be seriously injured, has not yet been revealed but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Israeli Prime Minister’s Office spokeswoman Avi Heyman told a news briefing that 87 percent of all requests for UN coordination to distribute aid were approved, but travel approvals did not always guarantee safe passage for aid workers. would give
