Karachi: The research affairs in the internationally renowned research center established by the renowned scientist Salim-uz-Zaman Siddiqui were severely affected.

The employees of ICCBS, a well-known institution for scientific research of the University of Karachi, have once again rejected the appointment of retired professor Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry as the director on behalf of the management.

The employees and teachers have claimed that 70 to 80 percent of the employees of the institution have gone on strike refusing to work, in which the scientists, teachers and researchers of the institution have also joined, after which internationally renowned The scientific research work in this institution has been seriously affected.

This institution was established by the efforts of Dr. Saleem-Uzzaman Siddiqui, a well-known scientist of the country, after which this is the first time that the situation has become so complicated. The employees have demanded the chancellor of the university to realize the reality instead of listening to the words of some philanthropists involved in the BOG of the institution.

Addressing a press conference held outside ICCBS on Tuesday afternoon, the teachers and non-teaching staff said that the fact is that the employees of this institution are not ready to work under Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry, hence the appointment of Iqbal Chaudhry. Withdraw the notification and appoint one of the 3 senior professors as the director. The employees announced that the strike will continue in the institution.

In the press conference Dr. Abid, Dr. Musharraf, Ali Kazmi, Safir, representative of the teachers association Nida Ali, member Syndicate Dr. Riaz and former member Dr. Mansoor were also present in the press conference.

The employees said that a one-man show was being run. He was not appointed to the post of director for 20 years. Senior professors and eminent scientists have been deprived of their rights. The employees have not been regularized for a decade and now the Director Dr. Farzana Shaheen, who was legally appointed under the BOG, has been dismissed by imposing emergency.

Dr. Mansoor said that the vice-chancellor has apparently acted according to the act by using the emergency power, but in the same act it is also written that this work of the institution should be in the interest of the institution. The protest of the employees has shown that this work is not in the interest of the organization.
