Justice Shaukat Siddiqui’s dismissal has been converted into retirement, notification issued

Islamabad: The Ministry of Law and Justice withdrew the notification of dismissal of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and issued the notification of his retirement.

The retirement of former Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui has been approved from June 30, 2021.

In light of the decision of the Supreme Court on March 22, 2024, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the retirement of retired Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was removed as a judge of the Islamabad High Court under Article 209(6) of the Constitution on the recommendations of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was accused of violating the code of conduct by making a statement against a sensitive institution while speaking at the Rawalpindi Bar function on July 21, after which he was disqualified from holding his post.
