A plot to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other top military officials was caught in the nick of time.
According to the international news organization, this assassination plot was not being made in Russia or any other enemy country, but in Ukraine itself, two colonels of the State Guards, who ensure the security of high officials including the president, were making.
A statement released by Ukraine’s security services claimed that two colonel-ranked State Guardsmen were arrested for plotting to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and other high-ranking military officers.
The statement added that the two arrested officers were recruited before the Russian war that started in February 2022 and were agents of Russia. The entire network was captured.
The statement of the Ukrainian Security Service also said that these two officers were to find someone who was responsible for the security of the President and could take the President hostage and kill him.
So far, there has been no response from Russia.
