Heat wave in Karachi, record breaking average temperature for May

Karachi: The record of the average temperature of May has been broken in the city of Quaid, while the Meteorological Department has predicted that the heat wave will continue for the next few days.

According to the details, the Early Warning Center of the Meteorological Department has predicted that the current heat wave will continue in Karachi for the next several days, while the air humidity ratio is also likely to be higher than normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may exceed 47 degrees in the districts of central Sindh during the next few days due to the heat wave.

The weather department said that the humidity in the air increased further in the city on Wednesday and a hot and humid day was recorded. During this time, the maximum mercury reached 36.9 degrees Celsius, while Wednesday recorded 1.1 degrees higher than the average temperature.

According to the Meteorological Department, a heat wave-like situation did not arise due to the wind blowing at a speed of 21 km per hour. Despite the hot and humid weather in the city, the humidity in the air on Wednesday afternoon was recorded at 59% after a further increase of 5% compared to the previous day.

It should be noted that last night the humidity in the air increased to 75%, due to which extreme heat and humidity were felt, due to which the temperature was higher than the actual temperature during the day.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.9 degrees Celsius, while Wednesday was 1.1 degrees higher than the average temperature of May.
