New Features in Telegram Business

Users who choose a business account will be able to display information relevant to their business on the chat information page. It will show the hours of operation and physical location of the store on a map. This way businesses can tell customers when and how to physically reach them.

Telegram Business will also allow enterprises to create a custom start page for empty chats. Here, they can add text and a sticker of their choice to let incoming users know about them before they start a conversation. The space can be used to display information about products and services or to greet customers with branded artwork, the company said.

Additionally, account holders will also have the option to use automated messages in a variety of ways. They’ll see an option to set a greeting message that will be sent to first-time texting users. This can be defined with a period after which a new message will repeat the greeting message again. Quick Replies will also be available for business accounts. These are shortcuts for sending preset messages that a user can send to get relevant information. It supports links, stickers, media and files. Customers will also have to set an away message for business closing hours. All automated messages can be set to exclude specific people or entire chat categories if an account holder also plans to use it as a private chat.

Some other features have also been added. Telegram Business account users can create links that lead users to the Telegram app. These links can be placed both inside and outside of Telegram on the user’s website. Clicking on them will result in the question being posted directly to the chat, for which automated messages can be set. Finally, Telegram is also allowing business account holders access to its bots and AI assistants that can be used to manage chats, answer questions and more.
